The purpose of Narayan Bali Puja is to assist the souls of ancestors who have experienced unnatural or untimely deaths in achieving liberation (moksha). This puja often includes the Predha Samskara homam. It aims to pacify unfulfilled earthly desires, break ancestral curses, and help individuals free themselves from negative karma.
Who can perform Narayan Bali Puja?
Narayan Nagbali Puja can be performed by anyone facing Pitru Dosh, Sarpa Dosh, or family issues, usually by the oldest male in the family.
Married couples are encouraged to perform Pind Daan together to improve marital harmony and address pregnancy concerns. Although some traditions advise against single women performing Pind Daan, it is generally acceptable for them to do so for their father, spouse, or children under a priest’s supervision.
What is the cost of Narayan Bali Puja?
The Narayan Bali Puja, along with additional rituals including Thila Homam, Predha Dosha, Predha Sapa, Predha Moksha, and Predha Samskara Puja, is conducted by our priests on Amavasya Day, as well as every Friday. When can I perform Narayan Bali Puja?
The Narayan Bali Puja can generally be conducted throughout the year. However, it is highly recommended to perform it on specific dates and lunar days based on the transition of planetary positions. Key times include:
- Pitru Paksha: This 15-day lunar period dedicated to ancestors is considered the most potent time for performing this puja.
- Amavasya (No Moon Day): Widely regarded as the best tithi (lunar day) for ancestor-related rituals.
- Other Recommended Tithis: Purnima (Full Moon), Panchami, Ashtami, and Chaturdashi are also considered favorable.
- Nakshatra Days: Days that feature specific lunar constellations, such as Punarvasu, Pushya, Magha, Bharani, and Ashlesha.
It is important to note that these rituals are generally not performed on Ekadashi, during Sankranti, or on days of a grahana (eclipse).
